misc. notes while entertaining, i can’t bring myself to get too excited about this series of books. that said, i can certainly appreciate the appeal of this series of books for kids. this installment of the series focuses on the protagonist, harry potter and his participation (unwillingly at first) in a multi-phased puzzle/magic contest. shit happens. people get hurt (some die) and are magically cured, there’s some teenage love tensions. harry saves the day/month/year....
quite possibly the best sticker i’ve seen in quite some time. this was plastered outside of a pub in the temple bar district in dublin. kathy snapped a picture of it when we were wandering about for dinner a few weeks ago and dodging vomit.
given all of the recent activity around storing your stuff in the cloud and the love from the NSA, i was wondering when the torrent crowd would assemble something along the lines of a peer-to-peer dropbox option. turns out that they already have. there’s even an iphone app and something equivalent for android. sync takes place over your local network if you’re local and via torrent if you’re remote. there’s some interesting reflector/relay capabilities and the data looks to be encrypted from end to end....
