  this was bleak writeup. we like taking amtrak for our dose of slow travel you do end up seeing a rather bleak side of the cities/towns you go through. that said, the scenery is spectacular.

  there are any number of things to take away from this article, but how we’ve hollowed things out for the almighty car is pretty depressing.
